Job Description
|
Responsibilities:
• Support the implementation of projects in line with Global Project Methodology objectives including continuous improvement of margin, customer satisfaction, schedule, working capital, and safety performance • Prepare work package execution plans for Implementation Teams defining team roles, responsibilities, and procedures during the detailed engineering and design stage • Determine scope of work, and execute work packages in compliance with instructions defined in the work package • Supervise and provide technical leadership to small teams of engineers and/or technicians from a multiple engineering discipline • Develop work package standards in conjunction with client for use by Implementation Team • Provide overall technical responsibility for all aspects of the DCS system including cabinet equipment layout, network architecture and application configuration (I/O assignment, control loop development, operator console displays, alarming reports, etc.) • Monitor and report on work package progress on a weekly basis to Project Manager • Liaise with clients, EPCs, Client Strategic Business Units and project leads to ensure efficient exchange of design data and review documents • Identify and resolve scope and technical issues that align with continuous improvement objectives within the scope of responsibility assigned • Ensure Implementation Teams have appropriate skills and capacity to deliver the work package outputs on schedule and within budget • Oversee quality assurance on work performed by Implementation Teams
Basic Qualifications:
• Eight to Ten years process automation experience • B.Sc. in Electrical, Computer, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (emphasis on Process Control an asset) or Instrumentation/Control Engineering Technologist Diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Client TPS Technologies is a benefit, especially Client DCS, Experion and/or Safety Manager systems • Leadership and organizational skills to manage small teams (typically 5 – 10 engineers from one engineering discipline) • Successfully manage multiple priorities and assignments for self and assigned team. • Direct supervision and professional development of 2 - 4 engineering resources may be assigned. • Demonstrated automation project planning, execution and scheduling skills • Strong technical computer background. Fluent in Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills • Solid interpersonal skills with ability to build excellent working relationships with all stakeholders • Ability to travel to client sites approximately 25% of work time.

• Candidates must possess recent and relevant automation and control experience • Candidates should have “project engineering” experience • If worked as a EPC , must have implantation of automation and control experience • Prefers Bachelor’s Degree, however, deep experience combined with Technologist Diploma will be considered • Candidates with experience from these companies will be considered: , Emerson, Spartan, Yoko Gawa, ABB, Siemens and Schneider
