Job Description
|
This position will perform database development tasks for the analysis, design, development, and testing of SQL Server Replication in a SQL Server 2008 R2 installation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- • Performs database development tasks for the analysis, design, development, and testing of SQL Server Replication in a SQL Server 2008 R2 installation. • Works and communicates with a Data Warehouse team to integrate the SQL Replication processes with new and existing data integration processes. • Works and communicates with the Development Database and IT Infrastructure teams to follow best practices and implement the SQL Replication processes in Development, Test and Production environments.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:- • Ability to effectively communicate in technical and non-technical terms with IT management, database administrators and infrastructure staff • Strong knowledge or SQL Server 2008 RDBMS • Strong knowledge of SQL Server Replication • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Required Education:-
• Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field OR 4 years relevant experience OR combination of college education and relevant experience to substitute for degree • 2 years experience with SQL Server 2005/2008 RDBMS database administration • 2 years experience with SQL Server 2005/2008 SQL Replication development and implementation
Preferred Qualifications:-
• 4 years experience with SQL Server 2005/2008 RDBMS database administration • 4 years experience with SQL Server 2005/2008 SQL Replication development and implementation • 1 year experience with SQL Server 2005/2008 in a Virtual environment, preferably VMWare
Physical Requirements:-
• This position requires the ability to sit for long periods, hear and converse over the telephone, and key frequently on a computer (4 or more hours per day).
