Job Description
Scope of Work:

• Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts by operating mechanical equipment.
• Assembles parts into sub-units or complete units.
• Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.
• Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• May be required to meet certain certifications in a specialized area and have at least 4 years of experience.
• Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Directs and leads the work of others.
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• Typically reports to a supervisor/manager.

Special Considerations:

• Work is typically performed in a warehouse or industrial environment.
• Worker may be expected to repetitively lift items weighing more than 25lbs.
• Worker may be expected to use a fork-lift, motor vehicle, motorized pallet jack or other material handling machine.
• Worker may be exposed to significant physical, biological or chemical hazards

Candidate Requirements

Other Skills: To start as soon as possible. Steel toed anti slip sole are required.

DESCRIPTION:

• Perform duties to manufacture quality, cost effective, precision-machined parts for internal and external customers.
• Setup and operate a number of single spindle machines with a variety of controlling devices such as CNC and mechanical.
• Experience required in the operation of any cam Swiss, multi spindle, Brown and Sharpe equipment including CNC controlled machines.
• Work from machine programs, part prints, layouts, sketches, and drawings. Setup machines to do drilling, threading, reaming, knurling, turning trepanning, and forming, milling and similar types of machines.
• Job requires complete knowledge and application of shop practice, specifications, procedures, attachments, machine tools, and perishable tooling as applicable to screw machine operations.
• Must be able to perform machine level programming such as adjusting offsets and speeds and feeds to compensate for machine and material variables.
• Will work under the direction of the department Team Leader and technical associate.
• The setup operator is responsible for quality, safety, and housekeeping practices
• Must be able to use a wide variety of fixed and adjustable gages and other measuring devices to ensure part quality.
• Will be required to instruct trainees, services, and stocker checkers.

MUST HAVE COMPLETED A FORMAL SCREW MACHINE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE
