Candidate Requirements
• Part-time opportunity for an experienced Inventory Control Clerk. • The Inventory Control Clerk’s primary objective is to effectively and accurately manage serial-number controlled special programmable thermostats as part of the Westar Energy® EfficiencyWorksSM WattSaverSM Demand Response thermostat program. • The successful candidate will control serial numbered, Demand Response thermostats and field supplies in support of this program. • Reports to, and works under general supervision of, the Field Supervisor.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Part-time inventory control. • This position provides security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review. • The successful candidate would need experience and good judgment to plan and accomplish a variety of inventory control tasks in a timely manner.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assists with program’s logistics plans to ensure efficient distribution of products to support field operations; Monitors inventory levels, production speed and product demand to help determine reorder levels which will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs. • Ensures security and accountability of inventory through transaction documentation, process and procedure verification, and system review. • Conducts physical inventories and leads inventory counts. • Analyzes and, when able, corrects inventory count discrepancies. • Conducts monthly “snapshot” physical inventories; analyzes and corrects count discrepancies. • Compiles and documents all inventory transactions for data entry. • Provides product testing, RMA processing, data entry, and physical inventory control/reporting. • Position includes—but is not limited to—light restacking, rearranging, placarding of multiple types of devices/equipment. • Ensures accuracy of inventory documentation; Ensures security and accountability of inventory; Audits incoming and outgoing shipments to assure quality and accuracy • Adopts safety and quality goals of program management • Assists with managing truck inventory of product and field supplies • Participate in ongoing training as necessary. • Other related duties as assigned • Some travel may be required within Energy service territory. • Worker will be required to provide personal transportation for some field support, deliveries, etc. (mileage reimbursable).
SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Must be able to inventory accurately; light materials handling and inventory experience a must • Detail and quality orientation a must • Computer literacy; Word, Excel, and ability to learn program specific software • Valid Drivers License; clean driving record; reliable transportation • Proven outstanding communications skills; Proven excellent work attendance record • 1-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area, a plus • Understanding of HVAC systems, energy management, a plus
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: • Must be technically apt to conduct device testing and data entry, physically able to safely stack lightweight cartons, use light material handling equipment (carts), but none motorized. • Must have proven ability to work unsupervised, and be able daily to make good high-production decisions. • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. • Work is typically performed in a controlled indoor environment; Worker will very seldom be expected to lift items weighing more than lbs.; as condition of employment, must provide own industrial safety work shoes with at least 4" tops. • Education Level: High School Graduate
