Responsibilities:
• Identification, development, demonstration, and implementation of welding processes, practices and procedures that provides improved productivity and quality. • Interfaces with other members of the Welding and Technical Services management team to develop and coordinate project execution and staffing plans to support project welding execution. • Provides consultation, guidance, and support to Project Construction Managers and the Site Welding Manager for constructability planning and review. • Supports the development and qualification of new welding procedures, processes, and practices, and ensures their successful implementation into the field. • Identifies capability and resource risks and develops sub-contractor relationships that can be called upon as necessary
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years of extensive experience as a welder, welding supervisor, welding planner, and /or welding engineer in the construction, maintenance, or major component repair replacement of power and industrial process plants, or shipbuilding. • Minimum of 7 years experience in a supervisory or management role, responsible for welding and piping installation project execution, 5 years of which must be in Nuclear Power Plant major component replacement projects or construction. • Extensive knowledge and experience working with the ASME & AWS codes and standards. • Experienced with the development and qualification of Welding Procedures to ASME Section IX for power plant applications Development of project welding requirements, project staffing and equipment plans, and cost estimates. | |
