Description:

• The position is responsible for performing various engineering assignments with direction and supervision to assist both the engineering and proposal teams in support of commercial aircraft seating projects.
• This position participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment and is responsible for selecting engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations.

Job responsibilities include:

Creates and modifies existing aircraft configurations to meet customer requirements.
• Validates that new aircraft interior designs meet regulator, aircraft manufacturer, and customer specifications.
• Creates detailed weight tables for inclusion into proposals.
• Writes seat specifications.
• Estimates non-recurring engineering costs.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university and a minimum three years related experience and/or training.
• Experience working in Unigraphics; specifically 2D layout skills with parametric and non-parametric lines and Sketcher, as well as 3D modeling skills or equivalent.
• Familiarity with engineering jargon and basic computer aided design.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including enhanced skills using Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently and adapt to rapidly changing roles; comfortable working towards firm deadlines for completion of work; and have the desire to rapidly develop skills.
• Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
• Prefer prior experience with proposal writing and knowledge of aircraft seating, including familiarity with aircraft interior design terminology and knowledge of finance terminology.
