| Job Description |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Primary responsibility will be to perform micro-titer and shake flask assays under direct supervision of the lead investigator.
• Previous experience with aseptic technique, microbial growth assays, and a strong background in microbiology is required.
• Additionally, the candidate will provide support to other team members as needed (for example preparing plasmids, stocking strains).
• Tasks may include using the following techniques: gene cloning, plasmid construction and purification, bacterial transformations, DNA sequence analysis, DNA gel electrophoresis, PCR, site directed mutagenesis.
• All work is to be accurately documented in electronic laboratory notebooks.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or Microbiology with 2+ years hands-on laboratory experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety in the job environment.
Preferred experience:
• Master’s degree
