Bagging Operator/Palletizing/Forklift Operator
Position Purpose/Job Description:
• The Bagging Operator is responsible for operating a Bagging machine, scale equipment, heat sealer, conveyors, and computer programs to fill bag product of 25, 40, and 50 lbs.
• The Bagging Operator is also responsible to assist the Warehouse Operator by utilizing a propane powered forklift to load van and flatbed trucks, check in and billing out trucks, answering the phone, filling out safety pre-post inspections on their forklift and conducting trailer inspections before loading.
• Additional responsibilities include dumping unsealed/rejected bags of salt, changing out propane tanks, operating pallet inverter, performing maintenance repairs on equipment, and performing housekeeping duties in their area.
• Conducting safety observations will be required once
• Behavioral Based safety training has been completed.

Physical Activity
1. Operating Automatic Bagging equipment, Heat Sealing equipment, conveyors and scale equipment
2. Operating Propane Powered forklift
3. Operate Stretch wrapping equipment, and conveyors
4. Troubleshoot and perform basic Maintenance on equipment
5. Working knowledge of how to use a computer.
6. Operate pallet inverter to rework damaged pallets of product.
7. General housekeeping tasks – sweeping, scraping, shoveling, wiping, etc.
8. Assist as needed with pulling production line.
9. Operate manual shrink wrap machine for mini-bulk bags and reworked pallets of product. Climbing

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Persons in this position must have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities)
1. Must have high school diploma or equivalent
2. Must be able to operate Propane Powered Forklift
3. Must be willing & able to work additional hours which may include overtime, weekends, & holidays
4. Must be reliable and maintain good attendance
5. Communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
6. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
7. Must be willing to accept accountability and work well in a team
8. Must be willing & able to utilize hand tools to perform basic repairs to equipment.
9. Must have basic computer skills. Experience with SAP program is beneficial but not required.
Additional Comments: Experience with SAP program is desirable but not required.
Person to be trained to operate production equipment, Fork lift experience will be helpful but not necessary.
