Job Description-
- Work independently and as part of a team, developing, planning, and executing day-to-day
equipment operations and maintenance as established in SOP’s.
- Responsible for conducting piloting trials in food grade pilot plant.
- Equipment operations - charge chemicals (possibly flammable or corrosive), start the equipment and operate per the test procedure with a PLC control system
- Participate in the development of work instructions and procedures that document the standard operating procedures for pilot testing and sampling.
- Operation of a wide range of equipment including existing systems as well as new technology.
- Assist in maintaining pilot equipment in good sanitary and working condition
- Provide process and sample data to sample owners in timely fashion
- Keep clear & concise records of pilot plant operations
- Ability to work around moving equipment and chemicals safely
- Ability to use analytical equipment (Titration, spectrophotometer, melting point)
- Good mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Some background in chemistry or chemical engineering is desired
- Some background in Vegetable oil refinery operation experience.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility for this position is to operate pilot equipment to create food grade quality samples in a safe, timely and professional manner. The technician is responsible to ensure the pilot plant remains operational and safe.

Required experience:
- Technical degree (current technicians have degrees in, Chemistry, food engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Associate level engineering technician)
- Experience in setup and operation of pilot scale equipment
- Ability to execute designed experiments as well troubleshoot and make correction during production run.
- Demonstrate commitment to safety in the job environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred experience:

- Some background in Vegetable oil refinery operation experience.
- 6 months to 3 years’ experience in food grade pilot plant environment
