Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

POSITION OVERVIEW
inspects products manufactured including painted products to ensure compliance with contract specifications by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Examines cut-sheets/drawings to determine such information as size, type of material of product and results of quality tests.
-Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, company's quality control system for compliance with legal requirements, and shipping and packing facilities for conformity to specified standards.
-Stamps mark of approval or rejection on product/material/parts and writes report for rejections. 
-Measures centerlines and reference points to verify initial and assembly layout and machine setup.
-Verifies physical properties and size of materials such as plates, sheets, structural shapes, fixtures, and work produced by fabricating machines.
-Examines finished products for weld quality, paint quality, dimensions, and appearance.
- Examines workpiece for scale, cracks, shade variances, or unpainted areas.
-Records number and type of units rejected and reasons for rejection.
-Marks other defects such as loose welds and loose or missing parts.
-Inspects identification markings on workpiece to ensure specified location and view-ability. 
-Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school education preferred and/or previous factory experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
-Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
-Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in standard units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
-Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 
-Ability to adhere to delegation of authority and lead by instructions of management and supervision.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
-Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends as required by union contract.
- Ability and attitude to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required achieving internal and external customer satisfaction.
