POSITION OVERVIEW
Works with computer programming and tends automatic multiple operation machine that bends, punches, notches, roll forms, beads, and cuts metal to fabricate parts for products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with management to analyze how to efficiently produce parts with the laser machine.
Produces orders for manufacturing as determined by ship dates.
Prepares laser to produce specific jobs by loading required computer instructions and tools into the machine.
Starts machine according to machine instructions, observes operation, and verifies finished product.
Does not leave laser unattended while in operation.
Stacks all parts produced in a neat, orderly manner to be used by manufacturing.
Properly disposes of waste produced by the laser as needed.
Keeps laser and work area clean, safe and orderly.
Performs proper preventative maintenance to the laser as indicated.
Follows instructions to properly shut down programs and equipment as indicated.
Must be safety conscious in all aspects of running the laser.
Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required and/or previous factory experience preferred. 
Personal computer experience or education required. 
Nesting software proficiency is preferred but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs, and read/use tape measure.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 
Ability to adhere to delegation of authority and lead by instructions of management and supervision.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic personal computer skills preferred using MS Windows.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends. 
Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.
