Job Description

1. Detailed oriented; computer skills 

2. Able to learn and follow procedures to run analytical tests 

3. Ability to run lab equipment for tests which includes ovens 


Opportunity: 

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing testing of pulp and paperboard to ensure the mill meets quality specifications. 

Required Qualifications 

• Proficient computer skills (including MS Office, most importantly Excel and Microsoft Word). 

• Willing and able to walk and work in an industrial location indoors or outdoors, including walking up and down steps with all safety equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, steel-toed shoes, etc.) 

• Eligible to work in the United States

The Laboratory Technician-MicroLab will perform the following work functions: 

• Collecting samples in an industrial setting, such as the following: 

o Stock & Additives (stock samples) 

o Finished product (Paper/paperboard) 

• Perform analyses using instruments in the onsite laboratory. Analysis includes bacterial testing, and other internal process analyses. 


• Entering analytical results in a database or spreadsheet for reporting; perform data analysis 

• Maintain proper housekeeping in the laboratory 

• Ensuring that laboratory instruments have proper preventative maintenance and care. 

• Checking that laboratory chemical inventory is adequate. 

• Adherence to all mill safety rules, participates in safety programs and meetings with the goal of improving safety at the mill
