Job Description
 Position Overview
This position leads the end-to-end lifecycle of FAR 15 proposals and subcontracts in support of key Aerospace programs. 
The selected candidate will support the Mechanical Assembly Government Sourcing team and will be responsible for mentoring team members while leading assigned commodities.
The role spans from proposal development through fulfillment of sales orders and concludes with negotiating subcontracts or long-term purchase agreements. 
The Lead Subcontracts Specialist ensures compliance, collaborates cross-functionally, and drives supplier performance.
 
Key Responsibilities
Execute FAR 15 subcontracts in accordance with FAR, DFARS, and applicable regulations
Develop strong negotiation strategies for contract execution
Manage key program suppliers
Train and mentor team members
Build supplier strategies to deliver best value.
Deliver compliant FAR 15 proposal packages to government customers
Partner closely with Pricing to ensure compliant submissions
Negotiate FAR 15-compliant subcontracts with suppliers
 
You Must Have:

3–5 years of experience in:
o Sourcing
o Procurement
o Supply Chain
o Law & Contracts (L&C)
o Business or Finance
U.S. Person status (due to contractual requirements)
Experience with FAR 15 subcontracting
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong negotiation capabilities and processes

Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and DFARS
Experience with:
o MS Office Suite

Supply chain and procurement experience (defense, aerospace, or similar industries)
Experience managing contract types:
o FFP (Firm Fixed Price)
o CP (Cost Plus)
o CPIF (Cost Plus Incentive Fee)
Experience with Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCPD)
Ability to review and negotiate terms and conditions
Ability to work independently
 
 
Questions – 
1. Walk me through a recent FAR 15 procurement you led—from RFP/proposal through negotiation and award. How did you ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS and Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCPD) while partnering with Pricing and suppliers to deliver a compliant package on schedule?
 
2. Describe a complex supplier negotiation involving FFP, CP, or CPIF subcontracts. How did you develop your negotiation strategy and balance value, compliance, and supplier relationships?
 
3. Provide an example of mentoring team members through a tight-deadline proposal or audit preparation. How did you ensure compliance, delegation, and on-time delivery?
