Selected candidate is expected to perform one or more of the following tasks:
• Lead and/or perform the product level design, analysis and verification activities of a Hardware Development team • Perform trade studies in concept selection, product architecture design and analysis; electronics circuit (mixed signal and/or power supply) design and analysis • Develop low level requirement documents and manage requirement changes using DOORS • Work closely with design team in implementing the design while ensuring process adherence • Perform or coordinate the tasks including creating test procedures, development / verification testing, documentation, resolution of technical problems. • Conduct technical presentations and participating in design reviews. • Hardware team focal for interfacing with customer and/or other functional groups • Provide support to manufacturing, investigate hardware failures and identify root causes and permanent corrective action by working with internal and external customers. • Provide support to task planning, preparation of schedules and estimates, metric collection and program statusing. • Must be proactive and be able to work with limited direction, well organized, possess good communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to handle multiple tasks at any time through proper prioritization and schedule management. • Knowledge of FPGA design and/or hands-on experience with complex analog circuit design is considered a strong asset.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline. • 5+ years of electronics design experience within aerospace or another highly regulated sector (e.g., nuclear, rail). • Strong understanding of electronics design principles and industry best practices. • Proficient in low power digital circuit design. • Solid understanding of low frequency analogue interface design. • Experience using industry standard ECAD tools (Mentor Graphics preferred). • Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFT (Design for Test) methodologies. • Familiarity with EMC design and qualification requirements. • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities. • Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail. • Experience in prited wiring board (PWB / PCB) is a definite asset |
