Job Description
Description:

Q/A

• Rotor Dynamics is a special mechanical engineering focus that studies the vibration, stability, and dynamics (i.e., a function of speed) behavior of rotating systems such as Fans, Compressors, & Turbines used in Jet Engines.

• Do you have at least 5 years of experience conducting such analysis to predict critical speed, create whirl speed map or Campbell diagram, & predict displacement, force, & moment due to imbalance?

• As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer  you will spearhead the mechanical design and development of advanced aerospace components and systems, ensuring innovative, reliable, and high-performance solutions that meet stringent industry standards and customer expectations.

• In this role, you will impact the advancement of aerospace technologies by leading design efforts, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and driving the successful integration of mechanical systems into cutting-edge aerospace products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the mechanical design and development of aerospace components and systems from concept through production
• Collaborate with systems engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility, manufacturability, and compliance with aerospace standards
• Develop and review detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and design documentation
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode analyses to ensure robust and reliable designs
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the mechanical design team
• Engage with customers and suppliers to align design requirements and resolve technical challenges

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
• Extensive experience in mechanical design engineering within aerospace or related industries, focusing on complex component and system design
• Proficiency in FEA software such as ANSYS APDL or ANSYS Workbench
• Proficiency in 1D Beam based FEA technique
• Proficiency in Rotor Dynamics & Shafting Structural Analyses
• Ability to lead design reviews, conduct risk assessments, and mentor engineering teams effectively
• Proven leadership experience in managing mechanical design projects in aerospace environments

WE VALUE

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Familiarity with systems engineering principles and cross-disciplinary collaboration
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and aerospace certification processes
• Knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and design standards such as AS9100 and MIL-STD
• Experience with design for manufacturability, tolerance analysis, and mechanical testing methodologies
